Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles' propulsion systems include diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in some locations. Automotive Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls. Responsibilities and Duties include bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting frequently throughout the workday. Sits infrequently as required. Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks. Operates standard and manual transmission and power and pneumatic tools. Requirements include an active driver’s license issued by the state, meeting D.O.T requirements, willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts with varying schedules, possession of required hand tools, current documented automotive mechanical experience, experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer, possession of full complement of personal hand tools, Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred with willingness to obtain CDL (UPS will provide training), dependability, availability to work varying shifts and overtime, wearing personal protective equipment, working in variable environmental conditions, working cooperatively in a diverse environment, and effective communication to maintain job safety.
