Job Description We are looking for an analytical, results-driven Senior Cloud Engineer to support a fast-paced effort at a large Federal Agency, developing software for high-priority IT systems. The candidate should emphasize design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and applications, utilizing Agile, DevSecOps, and Lean practices for efficient and modular development, deployment, and operation. Key Skills Java, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, REST Web services, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JSON, XML, JQuery, JavaScript, Splunk, Red Hat Cloud Forms, OpenStack, Tomcat, SOAP, IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, JBoss, experience deploying in AWS (including AWS Batch, RDS, DMS), migrating applications from Oracle to Postgres, microservice architecture with Java/J2EE, AWS certification, Terraform, and pipeline deployments. Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and deliver scalable, reliable software using Java web technologies. Develop enterprise web applications and support legacy system upgrades/migrations. Collaborate in Agile teams to analyze, design, and implement user stories. Write high-quality, compliant code and develop unit tests. Work with various RDBMS including Oracle, PL/SQL, MySQL. Participate in Agile processes using tools like Rally and JIRA. Create technical documentation and customer presentations. Review architectures for compliance and oversee development and transition plans. Maintain customer contact, respond promptly, and participate in process reviews. Develop data models, data structures, and metadata for performance and interoperability. Leverage domain expertise to develop comprehensive solutions aligned with customer requirements. Use tools for unit testing, automated builds, and source control. Participate in Agile ceremonies and team reviews. Qualifications Required Skills: Minimum 14+ years of full-stack development experience with a BA/BS or 12 years with a Master’s degree. Leadership experience managing 5-10 developers, with skills in IT strategy, management, and technical leadership. Experience analyzing data with Splunk and Instana. Hands-on experience with HTML, Spring/JPA, Hibernate/MyBatis, JBoss/Fuse. J2EE application development on JBoss or similar servers. Knowledge of SOA and WS* standards, XML Web Services, and tools like Axis. Unit testing experience and familiarity with configuration management and build tools (GitLab, Subversion, Ant, Maven, etc.). Experience with IDEs like Eclipse, RAD, JDeveloper. Must Have: Experience with database consolidation, data migration, and working in agile environments. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Selenium, Jenkins, Nexus, Docker). Understanding of Web Services protocols (REST, SOAP) and API design. Nice to Have: Cloud migration experience, AWS services, certifications in AWS or Java. Security Clearance: Green Card and US citizen; H1-B willing to transition; able to obtain Public Trust; prior or active Public Trust is a plus.
