Job Description

Harford Community College is seeking a visionary and compassionate leader to serve as our Director for Student Well-Being . Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Development, this pivotal role supports our mission of empowering students and communities through transformative education and workforce development. The Director will lead the Office of Student Well-Being, designing and implementing holistic initiatives that promote student health, safety, resilience, and success. This includes crisis response, community resource coordination, financial emergency support, and wellness education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead case management, outreach, training, and advocacy for student wellness
• Collaborate across campus and with community partners to eliminate barriers to success
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
• Support students with compassion and cultural competence, without providing therapy

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

• A Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, human services, or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience supporting student well-being and conducting crisis intervention
• A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
• Strong skills in communication, public speaking, training, and multi-project coordination
• Knowledge of wellness, mental health, prevention, and higher education compliance
• While licensure (e.g., LCSW, LCMFT, LCPC) is not required, it is a plus.
