These resources are aligned with our recommendations for schools. This leader will be responsible for personally vetting high-quality school mental health and suicide prevention resources that should be included in our playbook, and/or designing and managing a cross-functional vetting process in collaboration with JED’s clinical team and other experts based on best-practices from library/information science. This role requires a systems thinker and builder with strong project leadership skills, clinical literacy and/or expertise in library or database curation, and the ability to organize vast amounts of complex content into easily accessible and actionable guidance for schools. Secondarily, the Director may also identify potentially larger partnership opportunities with mission-aligned organizations whose services or resources could meaningfully support the mental health of young people, and elevate those potential opportunities to senior leadership for future business development exploration.

  • Ensure that all included resources reflect best practices, are evidence-based or clinically informed, and are culturally responsive and inclusive.
  • Create processes for regularly auditing and updating the Playbook to ensure accuracy, relevance, and usability.

Managing Inbound Requests from External Providers

  • Manage the intake and evaluation of inbound requests from organizations (nonprofit and for-profit) seeking inclusion in JED’s Playbook or partnership consideration.
  • Build relationships with selected mission-aligned organizations, identifying opportunities for collaboration beyond the Playbook should be potentially elevated to senior management for further exploration.
  • Represent JED in exploratory conversations with vendors and organizations offering promising services or innovations in youth mental health.
  • Provide input, ideas and ultimately implementation over any business models for JED that may be related to the Playbook, and potential sources of revenue generation for JED.

Program Integration and Internal Collaboration

  • Work with school program staff (including advisors and specialists) to ensure Playbook resources are mapped to relevant areas of school/district/campus strategic plans.
  • Provide internal training and onboarding for team members on using the Playbook as a tool for technical assistance and program delivery.
  • Partner with JED’s Digital Product and School Programs staff to ensure high-quality user experience and accessibility within The Hub platform.

Knowledge Sharing and Thought Leadership

  • Monitor trends, research, and innovations in school mental health and youth well-being, ensuring JED’s resources remain current and forward-looking.
  • Establish a system of check-ins with JED’s subject matter experts to stay apprised of needs in the field, as well as the organization’s stance on specific mental health issues ensuring resource alignment.
  • Develop reports, communications, or presentations that showcase the value and impact of the Playbook to funders, partners, and internal stakeholders.
