The IT Citrix Infrastructure Engineer is a specialized technical expert responsible for architecting, supporting, and optimizing Capital Health’s Citrix-based virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and remote access environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring secure, high-performance application and desktop delivery across the enterprise. While the primary focus is Citrix infrastructure, this position also requires strong hands-on experience with VMware virtualization, Azure Cloud integration, and enterprise storage platforms to support a stable and efficient end-user computing environment. The engineer will collaborate across infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to drive availability, compliance, and modernization initiatives. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience, with 6+ years in IT infrastructure including 4+ years engineering and supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, 2+ years with VMware infrastructure, experience with Microsoft Azure workloads, and enterprise storage management. Key skills include expert knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Azure services, Windows Server environments, PowerShell scripting, and security concepts like MFA and Zero Trust. Essential functions involve deploying and optimizing Citrix infrastructure, designing remote access solutions, collaborating with cloud teams, monitoring system performance, automating provisioning, applying patches, coordinating with storage and virtualization teams, maintaining documentation, and providing tier-3 escalation support. Additional responsibilities include supporting migrations and upgrades, participating in IT projects, assisting with audits, and recommending new tools. Success metrics focus on high availability, reduced user issues, successful integration, optimized performance, timely upgrades, strong collaboration, and clear documentation. The position is hybrid with 3 days on-site and 2 remote, with 5 days on-site for the first 90 days, located at Capital Health - Hopewell in Pennington, NJ.
