P osition Summary: Laundry Attendant

The primary responsibility of the Laundry Attendant is to wash, dry, iron and fold hotel linen and ensure that it is clean and available to be used by the hotel's departments as needed. In addition, he or she may be responsible for delivering linen to different storage areas and maintaining an organized work area.

Experience & Education:

• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Requirements:

Work Environment - Ability to work:

• With various type of equipment such as washer, dryer, gloves, automatic soap device, mop, broom, vacuum, carts for linen transport, keys, laundry chute, two-way radios
• Under variable temperature conditions
• Under variable noise levels
• Outdoors/Indoors
• Around chemicals, fumes and or odor hazards
• Around dust and or mite hazards

Physical Requirements:

• Long hours sometimes required
• Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, stoop or reach with your body and arms repeatedly without difficulty
• Ability to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigue
• Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
• Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range
