JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The John M. Lilley Library at Penn State Behrend seeks an evening/weekend, part-time library assistant. Summer semester hours are Mondays-Tuesdays, 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m. with alternating Fridays, 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m. and, fall/spring semesters, Sundays-Tuesdays, 2:00p.m.-10:00p.m. Hours are subject to change; therefore, an ability to work a flexible schedule is required. Duties include staffing the circulation desk, answering basic informational and directional questions, processing in-house and interlibrary loan materials, training & supervising evening/weekend student staff and completing special projects as assigned. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, the ability to work independently as well as with others in a team, a commitment to providing responsive and innovative services to a culturally and racially diverse campus, and a high degree of reliability. Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
