Job Title: Medical Assistant (Cardiology Clinic)
Duration: 6-month Contract-to-Hire

Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant certificate required
• High school diploma or GED certificate required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• At least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician’s office or other clinical setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• EKG certification

Overview:

The Medical Assistant - Front/Back Swing, under the supervision of the Clinical Lead and Practice Leader, assists in healthcare delivery and patient care management. This role supports providers within scope of practice to ensure quality patient care. Responsibilities include gathering patient information, assessing patient requests, obtaining and monitoring vitals, assisting with procedures, and reprocessing instruments.

Responsibilities:

Direct Patient Care:

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document symptoms, frequency, and severity
• Provide courteous and compassionate care, documenting all required information in the electronic medical record
• Administer injections, immunizations, and other patient care services as ordered by the provider
• Assist during medical procedures

Communication & Correspondence:

• Utilize electronic medical records to complete patient visits and requests
• Recognize urgent medical needs and triage appropriately
• Provide patients with accurate information and maintain confidentiality
• Process referrals accurately

Clinic Maintenance:

• Disinfect exam rooms and patient areas daily
• Assist with clinic upkeep, including cleaning and supply management

Administrative Support:

• Answer phones cheerfully and schedule appointments
• Take and manage patient messages within electronic medical records
• Greet and check in patients, address inquiries, and resolve concerns
• Assist with insurance verifications, authorizations, and helping patients understand their plans
