Responsibilities Performs each test as ordered by the physician in a manner prescribed by the procedure in the approved laboratory manual Monitors test results and notifies appropriate personnel if any patient results fall outside of the limits set for that test Assists the Laboratory Department Supervisor in checking file copies of the test results done on all shifts Interacts in a professional and courteous manner with other laboratory personnel and internal and external laboratory customers Qualifications Prefer certification (or eligibility for certification) by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Medical Technologist (MT ASCP) Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university including courses in biological science, chemistry and mathematics and successful completion of a CLIA accredited Medical Technology program OR Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university AND five years experience under the supervision of a pathologist certified by the American Board of Pathology The above statements are intended to describe the functions and related requirements of persons assigned to this job.
