We are hiring a Set Decorator to join a top entertainment company in Orlando, FL. This freelance position will run for 14 months and will be onsite Monday - Thursday, Friday remote. Responsibilities: Make purchases and write purchase orders independently Interface with Corporate Legal and Show Writing to ensure that all props comply with guidelines Assist or direct in field installation of props and dressings when required Supervise contractors in the installation of props and dressings Travel to vendors and supervise construction Support design development and communicate design concepts Maintain paperwork associated with the design effort Interface with other disciplines to insure placement of props and decorations Assist in field installation of props and dressings when required Research historical information and design technologies in support of design effort Work with manager in order to adhere to budget and schedule Support mock-ups and presentations including set-ups and strikes Document the implemented design Required Qualifications: Professional set decorator/assistant, capable of producing designs within established design parameters Proficiency with CAD drafting programs both 2D and 3D Working knowledge of theatrical design and technical knowledge of specific discipline, including methods of construction Working knowledge of construction materials, hardware, and tools Working knowledge of World History with a background in Decorative Arts Working knowledge of architectural and facility requirements and integration of specific discipline products into an attraction Understanding of the creative process and the development of a creative design Experience in computer-based program, in Word, Excel, etc. Organizational skills including development of budgets and schedules 2-4 years of experience in related environment required BA or MFA preferred (Theater, Film, Art, Interior/Retail Design) If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
