The Senior Space Planner provides a single point-of-contact for geography-related planning questions, including recommending and enforcing space policies, standards, procedures, and protocols. Further, the Senior Space Planner supports the occupancy planning staff by participating in day-to-day functions and providing mentorship to junior staff members. Core Responsibilities include maintaining, verifying, and reporting on space data and drawings, leading development of preliminary program requirements, developing migration plans and sequencing of group moves and relocations, assisting in developing site-specific planning strategies, pulling quality assurance reports, formulating and modifying space plans using AutoCAD, coordinating with project staff on space requirements, and adhering to University policies. Department Specific Functions include preparing reports and analyses involving data interpretation, conducting space audits and planning studies, consulting with various university leaders, developing standards and guidelines for space policies, evaluating improvement opportunities for data management systems, working with the Medical Space Planning team on space allocation processes, monitoring and updating space data and CAD drawings, developing and conducting training sessions on space management systems, generating test fits for space and relocation projects, documenting data and preparing reports, developing/modifying database queries, serving as liaison to other departments, supporting project managers, and staying current with industry trends. Core Qualifications require a Bachelor's degree, minimum 5 years relevant experience preferably in a University or Academic Medical Center setting, CAD certification and experience with space management software preferred. Skills include proficiency in AutoCAD, knowledge of space planning principles, familiarity with building codes and industry standards, experience with BI tools preferred, attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, project management, and commitment to University values.
