The Commission is the regulatory agency responsible for the enforcement of N.C. fishing, hunting, trapping and boating laws. The NCWRC employs over 700 full-time staff across the state, including wildlife and fisheries biologists and technicians, wildlife law enforcement officers, wildlife educators, communication specialists, customer service, information technology, and administrative professionals. The NC Wildlife Resources Commission Law Enforcement Division employs over 200 Wildlife Officers who patrol fields, forests, and inland waters at all hours, in all 100 North Carolina counties. These officers ensure public compliance with fishing, wildlife and boating laws and regulations and enforce the conservation of wildlife resources and provide public safety through both proactive law enforcement and the instruction of quality education. The WRC Law Enforcement Division - Telecommunications Center answers emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and other law enforcement agencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Telecommunications Center also documents and disseminates information to Wildlife Enforcement Officers assigned to 9 Districts that cover all 100 counties in North Carolina. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is seeking applicants for a Wildlife Law Enforcement Telecommunicator for our Law Enforcement Division - Telecommunications Center The Wildlife Law Enforcement Telecommunicator's primary responsibility is to provide centralized communications for the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. The Wildlife Law Enforcement Telecommunicator helps the public understand the law through WRC general information phone lines. The Wildlife Law Enforcement Telecommunicator receives: Requests for assistance by radio, telephone, and Division of Criminal Information Network (DCIN) terminals and ensures proper assistance; Requests from other governmental agencies (federal, state, and local) and initiates action to ensure delivery of assistance within the jurisdiction and approval of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Requests for assistance from agencies that monitor our frequency (such as State Bureau of Investigation, and US Fish and Wildlife) and provides them with law enforcement related information that is accessed through the Division of Criminal Information Network (DCIN). Reports of violations of federal or state game, fish, and boating laws and initiates appropriate enforcement action; Reports of fish kills and unusual water pollution and initiates appropriate action; Requests from WRC employees and utilizes reference books, DCIN data or other agencies to collect the requested information; Requests from the public on interpretation of laws, rules, regulations, and general WRC information (to include season openings, injured or orphaned animals, WRC functions, and WRC program information). There are 2 positions with the following shifts: 60033621 and 65041721 - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm A modified schedule is associated with these positions, which involves working 40 hours per week (4 days/week with 10 hours/day). Weekend work and holiday work will be required as it relates to working a rotating shift. On occasion, changes to the schedule and after-hours work may be required to adequately serve the public.
