Job Description

AMLI Residential has an excellent job opening for a Help Desk Technician (MIS Analyst). The person in this role will analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve or escalate hardware and software issues for all AMLI personnel. The Help Desk Technician will be the initial point of contact for all company applications, PC, and technical issues. This position works out of our office in downtown Chicago, close to all public transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze, prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve technical support issues; escalate issues to the appropriate department.

Utilize incident tracking software (Freshservice) to document IT support tasks and communication

Escalate high priority issues resulting in regional or company-wide impact

Image, deploy, and repair end-user's computer hardware.

Troubleshoot and resolve Windows and Microsoft Office application issues

Schedule vendors and technicians to provide hands-on assistance when necessary

Follow up with vendors and AMLI tier-2 support to assure issue resolution

Utilize working knowledge of all AMLI's systems and software to advise and assist end-users

Assist with the testing and evaluating of new software and systems; provide feedback and support from testing through implementation.

Create documentation, including end-user guides and knowledgebase documents for common issue resolution

Participate in an on-call rotation every fourth weekend

What You Bring:

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required BA/BS degree in Information Technology desired but not required.
• 1+ years of experience in computer support.
• Experience in multi-family real estate is a plus.
• Travel required for annual department meetings. Periodic in-city travel associated with remote site upgrades and installations may be required.

Technical Skills:

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office 365 technical support and use. Fundamental understanding of computer systems, networking, and technical systems.
• Fundamental understanding of networking concepts, such as IP addresses, DNS, VPN, and basic troubleshooting of network connectivity issues
• Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Freshservice or similar) and remote support tools.
• Familiarity with Entrata property management software is a plus.

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proven ability to problem-solve under pressure.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to recognize when issues need escalation or cross-functional support.
